Ross Smoker
Ross Smoker's interest in carving grew from watching his father (Richard B.) and brother (Rich W,) wood carve. He is a
native of Selinsgrove, PA, and an avid outdoorsman. Ross' first carving was a bluegill done in his father's shop. He then
started making hunting decoys for himself and rigs for others. His hobby soon grew to include all types of waterfowl carving, from gunning decoys to antique decoys and also decorative decoys. Today Ross' work can be seen in competitive shows all over the country. He has shown his work from Chincoteague, VA to Sacramento, CA and from Ocean City, MD to shows around the Selinsgrove area. He has wonmany ribbons. Ross has taught classes for the Ward Museum, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, Susquehannock Woodcarver and now Windward Studios. He is a fun and talented teacher with a terrific sense of humor.
